April to AugustAbout the reserve
This reserve is a mix of grassland, scrub and woodland. It is really important for butterflies and at least 24 species have been recorded here since 1991, such as small skipper and small copper.
There are many types of grasses including fescues and bents, Yorkshire-fog and smooth meadow-grass, which attract numerous insects. Twenty-one species of butterfly have been spotted here, including purple hairstreak, marbled white and small copper.
